Last updated on Mar 19, 2026

The X Home 4G Router is a plug-and-play home internet solution. Here is how to get started.

What's in the Box

  • X Home 4G Router
  • Power adapter
  • Ethernet cable
  • Quick start guide

Setup Steps

  1. No SIM insertion needed: The X Home 4G Router uses a built-in virtual SIM (vSIM). There is no physical SIM card to insert. Proceed to step 2.
  2. Connect power: Plug the power adapter into the router and into a wall outlet.
  3. Wait for startup: The router will take 2-3 minutes to boot up. Watch the LED indicators — a solid connection light means it has connected to the network.
  4. Connect your devices: Look for the default WiFi network name (SSID) and password printed on the label on the bottom of the router. Connect your phone, laptop, or other devices.
  5. Activate your plan: If you purchased a device bundle, your plan may already be active. If not, visit xnetwifi.com/activate to choose and activate your data plan.

Optimal Placement

  • Near a window for best cellular signal
  • Elevated position (shelf or desk, not on the floor)
  • Away from other electronics, microwaves, and thick walls
  • Central location in your home for even WiFi coverage

Connecting Additional Equipment

The X Home 4G Router has Ethernet ports for wired connections. You can:

  • Connect a computer directly for the fastest speeds
  • Connect a mesh WiFi system for whole-home coverage
  • Connect a network switch to add more wired devices

Use Cat6a or Cat7 Ethernet cables for best performance.

About the X Home vSIM

The X Home 4G Router uses a virtual SIM (vSIM) embedded in the device. There is no SIM card slot. If you experience connectivity issues, skip any SIM-related troubleshooting — use power cycle or factory reset instead.
