A factory reset restores your device to its original settings. This erases your custom WiFi name (SSID), password, and any other configuration changes. Your SIM card and data plan are not affected.
When to Factory Reset
- Your device is not connecting after basic troubleshooting (power cycle, SIM reseat)
- You changed settings and the device is not working properly
- Support has asked you to perform a factory reset
Before You Reset
- Write down any custom settings you want to restore afterward (WiFi name, password)
- A factory reset does NOT cancel your plan or affect your SIM card
General Reset Steps
Most XNET WIFI devices follow this process:
- Make sure the device is powered on.
- Locate the reset button (usually a small pinhole on the back or bottom of the device).
- Use a paperclip or SIM tool to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
- The device LED indicators will flash, indicating the reset has started.
- Wait 2-3 minutes for the device to fully reboot.
- Reconnect using the default WiFi name and password (printed on the device label).
After Resetting
- Your WiFi name and password will revert to the defaults on the device label.
- You may need to reconfigure any custom settings.
- Your data plan remains active — no need to reactivate.
