What to Do During a Service Outage

Last updated on Mar 17, 2026

Network outages are rare but can happen due to carrier maintenance, severe weather, or infrastructure issues. Here is what to do.

During an Outage

  1. Check the Device Status tool at devicestatus.xnetwifi.com for updates.
  2. Do not factory reset your device — outages are network-side and a reset will not help.
  3. Keep your device powered on so it reconnects automatically when service is restored.
  4. Contact support if you need a status update or if the outage persists beyond a few hours.

What to Expect

  • Most outages are resolved within a few hours.
  • Your service will restore automatically — no action needed on your end.
  • If the outage is carrier-related (the underlying cellular network), resolution depends on the carrier's timeline.

After Service Is Restored

  • Your device should reconnect automatically.
  • If it does not, perform a simple power cycle (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in).
  • Check your speeds to make sure everything is back to normal.
